Is it bad to work the same muscles every other day?

Im 16 and am trying to increase muscle mass, and do the same routine every day. Especially working my biceps and chest. And a couple of my friends said its not supposed to work the same muscles every day, only about 2 times week. But I want to get big so fast that I work on my chest and biceps every other day.
